Happy 2012! After nearly a month of celebrating, BMW of Silver Spring would like to take a minute to share with you what BMW expects to see this year.

Currently, all indications point to a bright future with significant global growth expected for the luxury car sector this year. How significant is significant? Friedrich Eichiner, CFO, BMW shows signs that the segment will grow at twice the speed as the overall auto industry vertical, in 2012. Of course, this puts the luxury automaker at a considerable advantage.

While the luxury automaker will not be overlooking their European roots; gains are anticipated to arise largely from North American, South American and Asian markets. He tells us that China, Latin America and India are the largest opportunities to secure market share. Depending on what comes from expert demand analyses, the luxury automaker may even start to open more factories in Brazil. BMW of Silver Spring promises to keep you up to date.

As far as plans to strengthen BMW's dedication to carbon fiber development with partner SLG Group go - there are not any at this time. The luxury automaker appears to be pleased with the current breakout of the partnership and currently has no plans to expand it.

For those BMW enthusiasts who might have missed last month's news due to the holiday madness, BMW gained almost a 16% stake in SLG Group. BMW also co-developed a state-of-the-art carbon-fiber manufacturing factory with SLG Group on the West Coast, in 2011.
