With a decades-long history of breathtaking design and performance, the BMW brand could easily rest on its laurels. Luckily for us, they wouldn’t dream of it. Case in point: the 2027 BMW 7 Series arrives at BMW of Silver Spring with new powertrains, a reimagined cockpit, and charging upgrades that reshape what this sedan offers you.

New Powertrains, From Gasoline to Electric

The updated inline six-cylinder engine in the BMW 740 models produces 394 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. On the electric side, the BMW i7 50 xDrive® achieves 449 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque, while the BMW i7 60 xDrive® raises output to 536 horsepower and 549 lb-ft. A BMW 750e xDrive® plug-in hybrid pairing a six-cylinder engine with an electric motor for 483 horsepower follows.

Panoramic iDrive Reinvents the Cockpit

BMW Operating System X® runs a 17.9-inch central display, a standard 14.6-inch passenger screen, and BMW Panoramic Vision® stretched across the base of the windshield. In back, the available 31.3-inch BMW Theater Screen®, available Executive Lounge seating, and automatic doors carry the luxury rearward. Premium upholstery and audio options round out the cabin updates.

Bigger Battery, Faster Charging, New Port

The BMW i7 gains a high-voltage battery with up to 112.5 kWh of usable energy, and BMW estimates the BMW i7 60 xDrive® can top 350 miles of range under EPA test procedures. DC charging now peaks at 250 kW — about 28 minutes from 10 to 80 percent — through a standard NACS port. BMW Symbiotic Drive® adds advanced Level 2 assistance, and standard Parking Assistant Plus® supplies a 360-degree view.
