When you’re buying a used car, you want to know everything about it: what its history is, how many miles it has, etc. Looking at BMW used cars with dealers like us can only tell you so much about what you’re buying.
One question you might wonder about is where used cars come from. It’s a good question to ask, so let’s talk about where we acquired the used cars on our lot.
Dealers and Car Auctions
We often attend wholesale car auctions to choose models for our dealership. Many of the cars at these auctions are former rental cars, so use and condition might vary. We also might trade with other BMW dealers if we need to find (or reduce our supply of) a particular model.
Trade-Ins and Customer Purchases
Another common way for us to acquire a used car is by getting it from a customer. When someone purchases a new car from us, we’ll often take their old car as a trade-in vehicle.
Alternatively, a customer might sell us their car directly. If the car is in good condition and we’re looking to sell that model, we might put it out on the lot.
Certified Pre-Owned Cars
We sometimes find used cars that pass all the requirements for the BMW-certified pre-owned program. Most of the time, these are leased cars that have been returned to us. We screen used cars according to BMW’s standards for this program, ensuring only eligible CPO cars are available.
At BMW of Silver Spring, we can help you find the best BMW used cars around. Check out our online showroom to see what used and certified pre-owned vehicles we have in stock.
