April is National Car Care Month, and if you’re due for some regular maintenance on your BMW car, now is the perfect opportunity to do so. The Columbia, MD winters can take their toll on your BMW car with snow, ice, slush, and road salt all playing a part.

Now that summer is approaching, you’re going to want your ride to be in top condition for your summer travels. To celebrate National Car Care Month, schedule a BMW service appointment with our certified mechanics!

Types of Regular Maintenance

Here in our service center, we talk a lot about the importance of getting regular car maintenance completed, but what exactly do we mean by regular maintenance? First of all, in order to see how often BMW recommends maintenance for your particular make and model, check your owner’s manual. The recommended maintenance intervals for a 2021 BMW 3 Series and an older BMW model may differ.

Here are some of the types of maintenance that need to be done on a regular basis:

  • Oil change: The oil in your engine keeps all the moving parts lubricated and your engine running smoothly. Failing to get timely oil changes can harm performance.
  • Tires: Seasonal temperature changes can lead to a fluctuation of tire pressure. We’ll make sure that the pressure is correct, and we’ll check the tread as well.
  • Brakes: Brakes are essential for safety and performance. We’ll check the rotors, pads, and calipers to make sure that they’re safe.
  • Fluids: Your car’s fluids are essential for maximum performance. We’ll top off the transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, and windshield wiper fluid.
