Anticipating the 2019 BMW X5 Release Date

Automakers are often coy about when a car will arrive at their dealerships, but if you’re waiting for the 2019 BMW X5, we can give you a date to circle on your calendar: November 10, 2018. That’s when the popular BMW SUV makes its way to dealerships, including BMW of Silver Spring.

The press release from BMW USA doesn’t offer much by way of details, but here’s what we do know so far:

New Design: The design refresh isn’t a radical departure from what we’re seeing in the current BMW X5. That said, it’s a logical evolutionary step, and keeps this new BMW SUV looking current and attractive.

Standard Equipment: BMW AG promises a wide range of standard equipment on the new BMW X5. The interior boasts the seventh generation of BMW iDrive operating system fed through two 12.3-inch digital displays. Standard safety features include active blind-spot detection, LED headlights, and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation. BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes navigation, there’s a panoramic glass sunroof, and there’s also wiring for trailer towing up to 6,600 pounds (a factory-installed trailer hitch is optional).

New Features: There’s a bit more “sport” in this Sport Activity Vehicle thanks to an optional Off-Road Package. The latter adds air suspension to vary ride height, and also includes a mechanical rear locking differential, which is more effective for rough terrain than an electronic differential.

Other Features: Among the things you’ll be able to option in include remote engine start, updated driver assistance systems, BMW Laserlights, and a brace of heated amenities that include the cupholders (which can also be cooled), the armrests, and the steering wheel.

So if you’re looking for a well-designed and impeccably-equipped luxury SUV, all you’ll need is a little patience. November isn’t that far off, after all.
