The BMW 7 Series has an interesting character in automotive lore. While an elegant, elder statesman in looks, its technology and practice embodies the youthfulness of the cutting edge. So when the Bavarian automaker set out to redesign it for 2016, they made sure to preserve both--and in our eyes, succeeded.

The BMW 7 Series bowed yesterday, ending months of teasers and speculation. In profile, it looks quite similar to the model it replaces, but with some noticeable changes. Its headlamps and grille are larger, the former boasting the LaserLight LED tech that BMW has been developing. It's also larger, too, and quite a bit lighter, thanks to its innovative CarbonCore construction.

Better yet, you'll be able to drive it as soon as this fall. In the meantime, explore the 7 Series in the video below.
