When it comes to prestigious accolades, there are few more so than Motor Trend's Car of the Year. So you can imagine our excitement when we learned that not one, but two of BMW's vehicles made the list of finalists for 2014.
Those cars would be the BMW 4 Series and 5 Series, which were listed alongside their performance variants. Each vehicle is a crowning jewel of their respective segments in their own right, and we couldn't be more happy that they're in the running.
The 4 Series is actually a fairly new contender. With its 428i and 435i coupe models equipped with either an inline four- or inline six-cylinder engine, you're definitely in for the best in driving pleasure. The M4 performance iteration was there, too, and ramps things up a notch with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six.
Of course, how could we be surprised about the 5 Series? Its variety of trims, such as the 528i and 535i, have been a hit at our Silver Spring, MD dealership for a while. You can't go wrong with its high-brow 550i iteration either. I mean, who could turn down 443 horsepower?
Even though our preferred models didn't win the penultimate title, it's definitely the thought that counts. And at the end of the day, a new BMW is still the ultimate driving machine.
Of course, we'd like you to learn that for yourself. Drop by BMW of Silver Spring and see what the best in Bavarian performance and luxury has to offer you.
