Here at BMW of Silver Spring we know that as the economy struggles to get back to its feet, sales of luxury and performance vehicles will slow down. That is how the pattern has worked since the crash in 2008, but after receiving the company's sales reports for the first quarter of this year, we are happy to say that things could be on the rebound.
Sales of new BMW vehicles were some of the highest that the company has ever seen in the first quarter of any year. In total, the brand moved at total of 381,404 units from dealership lots to the driveways of satisfied customers in the first three months of the year, and we think that is excellent news.
BMW Board of Management Chairman, Norbert Reithofer, remarked, "We achieved a new sales volume record for a first quarter. And despite high expenditure on new technologies and challenging market conditions worldwide, we managed to keep revenues and earnings at high levels."1
There were certainly some stand-out performers from the current lineup. Namely, the BMW 3 Series exceeded everybody's expectations selling over 100,000 units on its own. The 5 Series was able to sell 85,731 units, and the X1 sold 53,906 models.
There is a reason that so many drivers are turning to BMW for their next car purchase. Stop by the BMW of Silver Spring showroom and speak with our staff about all the great new and used BMW models in our inventory. We are located at 3211 Automobile Blvd. Silver Spring, MD 20904. We hope to see you soon.
