After years of slow automotive sales, especially in the premium segments that BMW occupies, it is very refreshing to be getting back sales reports that feature really good news. June was an especially great month for BMW and the brand actually achieved its best ever June sales after selling a total of 27,720 new BMW models.

All of these new models leaving dealership lots actually represented a whole 24.6 percent year-over-year increase in sales. What's more, is that the 2013 year-to-date sales showed a 9 percent increase compared to 2012. That is fantastic news for us here at BMW of Silver Spring, and we hope to see this trend continue.

Of course not all of the models in the current production lineup sold equally as well. The 3 Series family of vehicles sold very well as always with sales rising 62.6 percent. The X3 and the 6 Series also saw growth by 5.5 percent and 119 percent respectively.

"There is nothing like an abundance of new and popular models to drive sales, resulting in new U.S. sales records for BMW, MINI and pre-owned BMW," commented Ludwig Willisch, president and CEO for BMW of North America. "We started this year with confidence and optimism; the sales results have verified our viewpoint and we are very much looking forward to the second half with more new models on the way including the new X5."1
