Here at BMW of Silver Spring, we understand that the lives of many BMW drivers in the Columbia and Washington D.C. areas are scheduled down to the minute. Oftentimes, not having an internet connection at a crucial moment can be the difference keeping your job and the unemployment line. For those of you who often worry about being without a connection, especially when on the road, you will be happy to hear that BMW is now installing LTE WiFi in several new models.
WiFi will be available in any car that has a phone cradle dock in the center console. Several automakers have recently come out with an in-cabin WiFi feature, but in keeping with the BMW tradition of offering only the best to its customers, ultra-fast LTE WiFi will be the BMW standard.
To ensure that your connection remains private as your passengers browse the internet when you cruise down the highway, BMW protects your connection with an individual 8-digit passcode. The wireless adaptor is even useable outside the car and carries a 60min charge so you can get some work done when you stop for lunch on your trip.
As of right now, this new technology is only available to drivers in Europe, but we are told we can expect the BMW WiFi to hit our shores sometime very soon. When any new developments do take place, you can be sure to read about them right here on our blog. If you think you can live for now without mobile WiFi in your car, then be sure to come check out the BMW of Silver Spring showroom located at 3211 Automobile Blvd. Silver Spring, MD. We have an extensive inventory of new and used BMW vehicles for you to explore.
