Nearly six months have passed since BMW initially publicized their "new-generation sports car", the i8 plug-in hybrid concept. The past six months of nothing have kept BMW fans on the edge of their seats. Is the i8 plug-in hybrid concept going to become a lost idea like the majority of concept cars? Or, are BMW engineers locked in a secret location designing the production model?
Sadly, BMW of Silver Spring, serving Silver Spring doesn't know where the concept was during August through January, but we can tell you that it has recently enjoyed some snowy weather. BMW was spotted testing the 2014 BMW i8 prototype in the ice and snow in a rural area.
The recent sighting encourages us to believe the recent rumors that the 2014 BMW i8 plug-in sports car concept will enter production in two years. However, while we are eager to see the i8 enter production, we really hope the production model embodies at least a portion of the concept's design and performance elements of the concept.
How did the 2014 BMW i8 prototype handle the snow and ice? From what we saw it looks like it handled pretty well. But, don't just take our word for it.
