For those of you who have been keeping up with recent automotive news, you most likely have heard something about the rumored front-wheel drive BMW. BMW of Silver Spring in Silver Spring is going to take a moment to separate the truth from the rumors.
Before we start, the claim that BMW will debut their very first front-wheel-drive vehicle sometime in 2012 is an allegation. With that being stated; if Autocar's reports come to fruition, you can plan on seeing the all-new FWD BMW as early as September of this year, when it is allegedly expected to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.
Secondly, the bulk of auto gurus seem to be in agreement that the new FWD BMW will be coined the "BMW 1 Series GT". However, the luxury automaker has yet to confirm or deny. With that being said, we believe it is wise to refrain from naming the potential new model any definitive nomenclature.
The specs? The alleged vehicle's specs are also just mere speculations. What you might see, according to Autocar is a car boasting a turbo 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder engine - essentially the famed BMW 3.0-liter inline six engine halved.
