BMW of Silver Spring, serving Silver Spring has been eagerly waiting for the BMW ActiveE for awhile now. The BMW ActiveE will not only be BMW's first completely electric car, but it will also mark a milestone for the luxury automaker and for the auto industry as a whole.  At this time not a single one of BMW's competitors are offering anything even remotely close to a completely electric, luxury car. And, now with the BMW ActiveE entering America, we believe that the luxury automaker is in a great position to win the race.

Wondering why were are not saying, "BMW has won the race"? Even though the BMW ActiveE has arrived here in the United States, the pure-electric car is not available to everyone, quite yet. Possibly you recall hearing about the BMW Electronaut test-pilot program.  As of now, the BMW ActiveE has been leased by an "Electronauts" couple, Tom and Meredith Moloughney. The Moloughneys have the important job of providing detailed feedback to BMW about their experience while driving the car over the next two years.  The Moloughneys feedback, in addition to the feedback of other Electronauts worldwide will allow BMW to put the finishing touches on the forthcoming BMW i3 EV, which will officially launch sometime next year.

BMW of Silver Spring encourages all of our readers in the greater Silver Spring area to applaud the Moloughneys, a couple who really are pioneering a new generation for the luxury automaker. We cannot wait to see exactly what they think of the EV's 170 hp; 184 lb.-ft. of torque; nine-second, zero-to-60-mpg sprint time; 90 mph max speed; and super-convenient 100-mile/charge driving range.

For more information regarding the BMW ActiveE, stay tuned. BMW of Silver Spring promises to keep you up to date on all news regarding the BMW ActiveE and forthcoming BMW i3 EV, throughout the two-year pilot.  And, if you have other pending questions, feel free to contact us online, anytime, or by phone during our regular business hours.
