For those of you who are not as familiar with scooters as you would like to be, BMW dazzled fans last year with an early stage scooter called the prototype E Scooter. After a few months passed, the luxury automaker wowed enthusiasts by unveiling the Concept e. And, BMW has done it again with the launch of the BMW C evolution.
Similar to its precursors, the "near-production ready"1 scooter embodies classic BMW styling; a completely-functional, 62-mile range with a 3-hour charge time. Unlike the other scooters, the BMW C evolution can obtain a 70% charge in approximately 30 minutes! Remarkable, we know.
In addition to impressing scooter fans, the new electric scooter is more convenient than ever. Specifically, an industry-first charge sockets that are compatible with car-charging stations are popping up across America. Currently, BMW is supposedly the only scooter maker to offer such a feature industry-wide.
The cherry on top is the scooter's flexibility. While the BMW C evolution will without a doubt be marketed as more of an urban machine; it has a top speed of roughly 75 mph. This means that future owners are free to escape to the countryside.
As for availability, BMW has yet to announce specifics. However, we do know that testing is in progress in London. So, make sure to check the BMW of Silver Spring blog regularly as details are expected to surface soon. Until then, you can always explore our entire four-wheeled new BMW lineup, including a collection of urban-friendly hybrid models (i.e., the BMW ActiveHybrid 3, BMW ActiveHybrid 5, BMW ActiveHybrid 750i and BMW Active Hybrid 750 Li) online or in person at 3211 Automobile Blvd Silver Spring, MD 20904.
