They pursue power and often are powerful themselves... They continuously strive to be outstanding... They appreciate well-rendered design... "They" are BMW drivers.
It's a generalization; but do you know one BMW driver who doesn't value exclusivity and beauty? Probably not.
BMW of Silver Spring thought you and your fellow BMW enthusiasts would be interested to know New York's Guggenheim Museum has decided to sell a one-of-a-kind BMW art car to elevate their financial standing and ultimately create new exhibits. The Bavarian canvas on wheels we're referring to is a classic M1 painted in 1979 by American artist Frank Stella. Frank Stella played a significant role in minimalism and post-painterly abstraction.
While BMW actually commissioned many art cars for the company's private collection, (including one by Pop Art icon Andy Warhol) , the '79 M1 painted by Stella is the only one officially approved by the factory for a private client...When we said one-of-a-kind, we meant it.
The Stella BMW M1 has been part of the Guggenheim's collection since the late nineties, and is in beautiful condition. It will be auctioned by Bonhams in August at the Quail Lodge in Carmel California. It's expected to go for quite the pretty penny... somewhere in the proximity of half-a-million dollars - at least.
